Egypt is an Example for All Believers
Oh, merciful God! I don't know if I can stop myself from crying. I'm not sure if it's because of how atrocious and horrifying it is to see people who have so little respect for God that they would throw rocks at people who are praying or if it's because of how faith-affirming it is to see the taqwa of religious Egyptian Christians and Muslims (who worship the same God) in the midst of all these thugs Mubarak has unleashed on the country.
"A beautiful moment captured by one photographer in Egypt: Christians grabbing hands to form a human shield around Muslim protesters as they take a break to honor the call to prayer."
My American Christian sisters and brothers, this is what true Christianity looks like: standing with the oppressed, even when the stakes couldn't be higher.
"Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
“O you who believe! Fear Allah as He ought to be feared and do not die except as believers. And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it.”
Surah al 'Imran 102 & 103
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal praise."
