Jazz Makes me Feel the Presence of God

Whenever I feel like I'm in need of a spiritual experience, this is what I listen to. I swear, listening to Kermit Ruffins gives me more shivers than an all-day revival at a Pentecostal church. If you can't feel the presence of our ancestors while listening to this song, then you might as well bury yourself now, because you're already dead.

"Ohhh, Lil Liza! Lil Liza Jane! Ohhh Lil Liza! Lil Liza Jane!"

Well..... my ancestors wouldn't exactly have gotten it. But they ate bland white fish and always turned the heat off on March 1st because there was virtue in freezing.
What they missed. Thank heavens we don't have to follow our ancestors (except for the good things, and I'll think of something in a minute).

Jazz is truly the joyful noise that brings me close to the infinite.
