The Weight Saga

I went to the doctor yesterday and now I'm pretty upset. I was sure that I'd gained some weight. A while back, I put away the scale at home and decided to just stop tracking my weight. I didn't want to become obsessed with scale results because I know that would add to my stress and that would screw with my stomach which would jump start the intestinal problems.

Well, it didn't work. I've lost even more weight since the last time I saw this doctor. Even the temporary weight gain associated with my menstrual cycle didn't help. If she were to weigh me next week, I'd probably be even smaller.

It is so frustrating! I take the medicine they give me and I'll start to feel a little bit better but I never actually get better.

I'm sorry too, Bint. :(

Some totally unsolicited advice, but this is straight from my own customers who have had/still have cancer: Find some powdered whey protein (plain or vanilla flavored), add it to some fruit, ice cubes, yogurt, milk or egg yolks optional, sweeten as desired. (Even canned fruit will work!)

When people can't eat or feel that they are only forcing themselves to eat, these high-calorie, high-protein smoothies can be sipped on all day instead of plain fruit juices. I know several ladies who swear by them! :)

Thanks for the advice Daisy! I'll get The German to look for it at the Whole Foods store. I have also just started this new product that others have told me about. It's designed to balance out intestinal flora. I'm hoping it will maybe help me out a bit.

Keep your fingers crossed!

mmm, i was going to put some cute little losing weight story until i realize half-way through you are trying to gain weight. don't have any stories about failed attempts at that, haha.

i'm thinking of you though; can't imagine how frusterated you must be feeling.

hi. followed your trail here from Michfest (don't worry I'm not stalking...lol)
I like your blog and I like how you express yourself.
Anyway, on the weight issue, I have a friend who drinks/eats meal replacement shakes & bars in addition to the food she eats to help gain weight.

I'm interested in emailing you about a word in arabic. Follow my trail from Michfest to let me know how to write you...
thanks

You probably mean probiotics, which are certainly invaluable!

If you can drink Kefir, a very sour probiotic drink (I tell my customers, it's "yogurt squared"--and they come back and say "you were right!") then maybe you could incorporate that into your diet, too. In Ayurvedic medicine, they have the children drink 1-2 oz a day as an immune-builder. But it's an, ahem, acquired taste, and I've never been able to make it a daily thing.

However, if you make this a habit, fewer yeast infections. For many people (me), Kefir totally eradicates them.

Whoops! I didn't mean to jump straight to the unsolicited advice!

I feel for you!

It's so frustrating when you're trying hard and feel like you're making progress but nothing shows up!
